“Tell Me Why” is a classic pop ballad recorded by the American pop singer Bobby Vinton, originally released as a single in May 1964. The song served as the title track for his eighth studio album, Tell Me Why, which debuted later that year in July.
The single spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #13. It also reached #3 on Billboard’s Pop-Standards Singles chart and #11 on the Cash Box Top 100. The track was composed by Marty Gold with lyrics written by Al Alberts, the lead singer of the traditional pop group The Four Aces. It was originally recorded by Jerry Gray and his orchestra in 1951. The Four Aces later made it a million-selling hit in early 1952.
