The Pretenders are an British-American rock band founded in 1978 by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Chrissie Hynde. Their debut album “Pretenders” (1980), featured hits like “Brass in Pocket” and “Kid”. “Message of Love” (1983), “Back on the Chain Gang”, “2000 Miles”, “I’ll Stand By You” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong” are other standout tracks. In the late ’80s, Hynde collaborated with UB40 on “I Got You Babe,” a reggae-infused cover of the Sonny & Cher classic. This performance was recorded by the TROS TV program Starclub on March 23, 1981. .
